Method 1: Using Symbol Keys
1. Go to tab Insert and click the button Symbolclick
More Symbols in the drop-down list.

2. The Symbols dialog box will be displayed, go to the tab Symbols and select Symbol in the Font box. Scroll up and down to select the math symbol you want, then just click on it Insert on the bottom right.

Method 2: Using Right Click Menu
1. Click anywhere in the Word document and right click mouse. select
Insert Symbol in the menu that appears.

2. The Symbols dialog box will appear. select Symbol as Font in tab
Symbol. Scroll up and down to select the math symbol you want, and just tap the button Insert to add it to your document.

Method 3: Using Ink Equation
1. Go to tab Insert and click Equation in the Symbols group.

2. Select Ink Equation in the drop-down list.

3. Then the handwriting board will be displayed. Just drag your mouse to draw the symbol. The graph will be automatically identified as the most similar mathematical symbol in the text box above.
If wrong, click the button Erase and select the wrong part to delete it. If you want to re-enter math symbols, click the button clear then everything on the handwritten board will be erased. Then just click Insert on the bottom right.

Method 4: Using Keyboard Shortcuts
Certain math symbols have corresponding keyboard shortcuts. To enter it, you can enter the appropriate code then press [Alt + X].
For example, if you want to enter a less than or equal symbol, then just enter 2264 in the document and press [Alt + X]it will be immediately converted into a symbol ️.

Method 5: Using Object Button
1. Open tab Insert and click the button Objectselect Object in the drop-down menu.

2. In tab Create New from the Object dialog box that appears, select Microsoft Equation 3.0 as Object type, then click button OK on the bottom right.

3. Dialog box Equation will appear in the document. Click math symbol icon
in the top left corner and select symbol which you want to add to the list. It will be added to your document immediately.

PS: Among all the methods above, Method 1, Method 3, and Method 5 can also be applied to Microsoft Excel. You can follow the same steps already mentioned above.
